Captain Roy’s is our favorite neighborhood bar! Trivia on Tuesdays at 6:15pm is always entertaining!
Very limited menu, you order at the bar and they bring your food to you. No seafood or vegan options. Food was ok but not a lot of flavor. Clean and quick service.
Visited for the Vintage fair. Drink service was good, atmosphere was great, sunny day sitting by the river. Food service horrible. Simple order of cheese curds, never received …90 minutes..asked … told to give it another 15 minutes. Finally we had to leave… got a shrug & a sorry… no refund. We had paid cash & tipped well originally. 🙁
Amazing live music, fun and engaging staff, beautiful grounds to explore. Private or loud depending on where you decided to sit. Overall, very welcoming and very nice atmosphere. No cover and worth every minute.
If you are looking for a kid friendly, dog friendly, or just a vibe friendly place, this is it! I’ve been frequently here in the summer and have never had a bad experience. The outdoor setup is very casual and open. The canopies outside are a nice touch and provide extra shade during the hot summer months. A pontoon boat turned into a music stage is setup for bands to play, also outside, set up right next to the water at the entrance to the small Birdland Marina. The indoor bar itself is small but with the amount of room outside it really doesn't matter. A full bar inside with a nice selection of familiar domestic beers and regional microbrews.
I will go back again for other bands or events, because overall it is a pretty cool place, and with it being right on the water there really isn't a lot of places around the area like that.
Adult recess was the theme last night and it was pretty darn busy!!! I could see that being a regular thing there. It was my first time attending that event. A little more help serving drinks and a better method of getting drinks to customers would make things go a little more smoothly.
A small place & a little bit expensive but I have to say the food was very good. I ordered the patty melt with steak fries, my wife got the grilled cheese, & we shared some loaded tots & all of them were fantastic! They have a full bar for adult beverages & the bartender was friendly.
